This pretty Spanish home was built in1939 and in the neighborhood of North Park. San Diego is a wonderful destination city.This  area  was established in 1925. This historical neighborhood retains many
of the classic homes from that era. We are centrally located and  just minutes  to all major attractions. You may recognize some of the streets and  shops from  the series Veronica Mars which  filmed  some locations in this neighborhood-- props were purchased for the tv show from our shop, Vintage Sol when we had a store front.

Rental is for the small detached studio with private courtyard. This little oasis is your home base for your stay. A perfect couple's getaway. The  room decor is a mix Mexican influences and
revolving vintage collections. We offer the  same comfort, hospitality and warmth of a traditional B&B but with modern updates.  What sets apart from old fashioned B&Bs is the artsy, fun, not fussy vibe,  private setting and fresh  details. High quality  Anthropologie duvets cover down  comforters. Casual and romantic.  Vibrant colors, Mexican handcrafts and a fountain greet you in the garden courtyard.There are lots of unique details, neighborhood gems and local artist contributions that make this vacation retreat truly special. 
 
We offer a generous Traditional or Continental breakfast and complimentary  beverages served in your  room or out in the courtyard. The detached guest room is adjacent to the main house so it offers more privacy than the typical Inn. It is self-contained with a small kitchen like a tiny casita. French doors open to a sunny colorful courtyard with fountain and outdoor kitchen. There are multiple  outdoor seating areas and places to relax. It is for your private use during your stay.The perfect cozy couple's retreat.

Your host are mixed media artist and much of the work is incorporated into the outdoor space. All the ironwork is crafted by my husband or his family. We are inspired by "Urban Urchins"(found objects, old photos, flea market gems and abandoned cast offs). Our interest in recycling and re-purposing is reflected in our  quirky artwork. Our Stone Soup shadow box assemblages and altered is  funky kitschy fun. We are organic gardeners love to share our fruit and herbs. We try to incorporate it into our breakfast as much as possible. Sample from our  fruit and herb garden outside your door.

We are also entrepreneurs and owned a home, garden and gift boutique. So we understand the importance of quality service. San Diego is a beautiful city with many popular attractions. Please take time to visit the small neighborhoods and unusual independent shops that make this city diverse and unique. We support  small business and would be happy to introduce you to the many
wonderful independent  shops  and restaurants in the area. Let us know of any special interest you have and we will be happy to try to find something that would be a good fit. Locals are a valuable resource for travelers to a new city. Staying at a Bed & Breakfast is a great opportunity to feel like part of the  community.  We are strong supporters of our neighborhood shops and award winning restaurants- many only a 5 minute drive away. We are proud to highlight the growing art culture and business stars of North Park and South Park. This eclectic area has some wonderful old homes, shops and eateries waiting for you to discover!

Travel journalist writes "A little birdy recommended that I stay at a newer unique and colorful B&B that knocked my animal print wedges clean off.  Vintage Sol is quite possibly the sweetest most comfortable place I have taken roost for the night. The Spanish style B&B is tucked neatly and sweetly into a peaceful North Park nook. Fluffy cotton wrapped marshmallows is the best way I can describe the bed and pillows (I am still dreaming about them!) Outside of my inspiration-on-high cozy quarters the fountain babbled lightly and the salty ocean breeze gently caressed the organic herb and flower garden.  The vibrant private courtyard is pleasantly appointed with funky folk art,curly swirly ironwork, colorful tiles, peeping flowers and a setting that is ideal for letting the muses come through to play with your imagination! Two wonderful events.  Our home was visited by a 5 foot Great Blue Heron on our roof.  He had a case of waunderlust from the nearby San Diego Zoo.  On another magical day we had a stream of  thousands of migrating butterflies float
right in front of the house and down the one way street--the wrong way of course. It was serindipity that we were there to capture both once in a lifetime encounters.
